A new Law of Ukraine “On licensing of types of economic activity” entered into force on June 28. The Law determines a comprehensive list of types (30 types) of economic activity that are subject to licensing, establishes a unified procedure of licensing.
The Law does not apply to licensing of banking activity, broadcasting, production and wholesale trade of ethyl, cognac and fruit alcohols, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, which are subject to licensing according to special laws of Ukraine.
Among the innovations of the Law:
– possibility of submitting documents to the licensing authority in electronic form;
– license issued in electronic form as a record of the decision of the licensing authority in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs; license on paper is issued only at the request of licensee;
– the Law also does not establish a special license registry, because all information regarding licensing should now be contained in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs.
