With the new year came into force amendments to the Civil Code, the Law on Notaries, the Law on property evaluation and other special design features acts on inheritance rights.
Firstly, the authority to make statements about the inheritance in rural areas was given to officials of village councils.
Interestingly, the law establishes requirements for such officials to issue a certificate of inheritance: higher legal education, 3 years of professional experience, including internships in a notary’s office, knowledge of relevant registers and exam with inheritance.
Secondly, under the new legislative changes, is not subject to mandatory evaluation of real estate for heirs of the first and the second steps, as well as property, inheritance is taxed at 0%.
